Movie Friday Review: Skyfall

There was a lot of talk of Bond 22 not getting off the ground since MGM issue a few years back. Not to sound clique or anything but Bond is back. Skyfall, the newest James Bond iteration, has something for both Bond fans and action movie fans. What makes Skyfall so unique and why do I give it my personal favorite Bond since his revival in Goldeneye? Find out below!

Movie Friday Review: Wreck-it Ralph

No Netflix movie this week because there was another mammoth movie that came out that I was obliged to see. I speak of Wreck-it Ralph, the Disney video game hybrid that mixes in Disney style story telling with real life video game references. With all the advertising for the movie from word of mouth alone, you would have to be living under a rock if you haven’t heard of this movie. Let’s get to it now!

Netflix Movie Friday: The Crazies

A bit thin on the movie review this week. The Crazies is my choice of movie this week. I know I know, it’s a pretty generic action horror movie. While this movie might not be the greatest film of all time (some might say it’s actually pretty bad), it’s not too terrible. With lackluster special effects and a forgettable story, The Crazies is a very weak recreation of the 1973 recreation of a George A Romero film of the same name. Still want to see it? Let me convince you not to.

Movie Friday Review: Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

This week is a movie that some people thought would’ve been good though I had my doubts when it came out. Thankfully I’m not wrong in my concerns. Of course I’m talking about Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Don’t be fooled by the look and release of this movie. It is in no way shape or form a sequel/prequel/related to the other Ghost Rider movie staring Nicolas Cage. Why is this a bad movie? I’ll let you know all the dirty secrets.

Netflix Movie Friday: Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

This week’s movie review comes from last year’s action movie Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Tom Cruise and director Brad Bird (The Incredibles) brings the high-octane action of the popular action series back. The IMF is on its last legs and it’s up to Ethan Hunt and his team to save what’s left of the organization.

Movie Friday Review: Looper

I can’t believe I had time to watch a movie this week, in theaters no less. I managed to go out to see Looper, the crossover movie staring the increasingly popular Joseph Gordon-Levitt (JGL) and the action super star Bruce Willis. This movie involves time travel and the struggle between the past and the present character as both Gordon-Levitt and Willis duke it out as the same character. Confusing? You bet. But never fear because Looper is one of those rare time travel movies that I actually will endorse (including than Back to the Future). How so? Find out why after the jump.

Netflix Movie Friday: The Adventures of Tintin

This week’s Netflix Movie comes courtesy of The Adventures of Tintin. This movie came out in 2011 and is a 3D animated film based off the old French comic books of the same name. Some of you may recall the excellent TV show that came from the comics as well. How does the film stack up against the TV show and the comics and more importantly does it hold true to the series? We turn the clock back a notch this week with a review of the 1994 classic Maverick. This came out in the era of 90s action flicks so to have a western poker movie was something different. Netflix Movie Friday: The Mystery Team

A DVD movie this week! Some of you may know Donald Glover from his work on the hit TV show Community. However some people are familiar with his work in Donald’s music career or with his popular YouTube channel Derricks Comedy. Either way Donald Glover and the rest of the misfits at Derrick Comedy went and made their first full-length movie called The Mystery Team. Is it comedic gold? Find out more.

Netflix Movie Friday Review: The Other Guys

I’m not Will Ferrell. Nor am I am I a fan of Mark Wahlberg. The Other Guys is a different story though. The Other Guys follows a rag tag duo of detectives as they work their case in attempts to be the next top dogs of the district. The reason why I’ll give this movie as an exception is because Wahlberg is excellent in comedy roles as seen in the summer movie Ted. Is it worth the ridiculous story and nonsensical setups?
