Ryan Davis, a man who has impacted the internet in such a way that even a complete and random stranger like me knew who he was. His work over the past decade has inspired me not only in my hobby, but as a person as well. Every time I saw him on camera, whether it was back in his old Gamespotting years or even in his more obscure but hilarious work as a Time Trotter, I always had a great time. His humor, wit, and charisma always shone through and I've never seen him have a bad day.
The first time I met Ryan was in Seattle back in 2009 at the first Giant Bomb PAX panel ever. I still remember like it was, 2009, but at the time it was still the skeleton crew of Ryan, Jeff, Vinny, and Brad. We were all stuffed in the corner of the convention center where everyone was walking, probably due to overbooking and Giant Bomb not being overly big at the time. The second time I met Ryan was in the following year again at PAX but this time the Giant Bomb crew actually was given an actual venue to host.
Ryan has left a lasting impression with everyone in the community and he will be missed by family, friends, and fans. Good sir, I hope you’re teaching them up there how to make a proper podcast and till we meet again.
